The walk from Leeuwarden railway station to the Turfmarkt takes about 10 minutes. You can also take the bus: lines 2, 3 or 8 ("Oosterkade" bus stop is right behind the museum).

The manuscript was given on loan from the province of Friesland to the Fries Museum. It belongs to the Collot d'Escury-collection which came from the legacy of Mr. Van Harinxma thoe Slooten
